About This Tool
Chebyshev's inequality guarantees that for any distribution, at least 1 - 1/k² of data falls within k standard deviations of the mean. This calculator computes the minimum proportion for any k greater than 1. It is especially useful for non-normal distributions where other rules of thumb do not apply.
