What is Joint Compound?
Joint compound (also called "mud") is a gypsum-based paste used to finish drywall seams, corners, and fastener holes. It creates a smooth, seamless surface ready for painting or texture.
The amount of compound needed depends on the finish level, room size, and whether texture will be applied. Using the correct amount ensures proper coverage without overbuying.

Understanding Finish Levels
Tape only (attics, garages, storage areas)
