Guide

The Value vs Effort Matrix (also known as the Eisenhower Matrix or Priority Matrix) is a decision-making tool that helps teams prioritize initiatives based on two dimensions: the expected business value and the required effort to implement them.

Quick Wins (High Value, Low Effort)

These are your top priorities. They deliver significant value with minimal resource investment. Do these first to build momentum and demonstrate progress.

Major Projects (High Value, High Effort)

These are strategic initiatives worth pursuing but require careful planning and resources. Schedule them after quick wins are complete.

Fill-ins (Low Value, Low Effort)

Nice-to-have items that require minimal effort. Do these when you have spare capacity or as a break from larger projects.

Reconsider (Low Value, High Effort)

These should be avoided or significantly reworked. They consume resources without delivering proportionate value.
